It's been a long time...

since I posted anything... Just been really busy lately! Anyway, here's a card I just did for the weekly challenge over at 2 Sketches for you. Such a fun sketch! Just in case you can't see, it says, "love always". The little white frame was actually solid, but I wanted a frame instead- so I cut it with an Exacto knife. I didn't work out to well... you can see by the extremely raw edges. I decided that they just make it look better- it adds more texture :) I've altered two little notebooks from Marshalls, but I don't have pictures right now. I'll get those on here soon; they turned out pretty cute.

A few cards for 2 Sketches 4 You...

I really love all their sketches, they're so much fun to work with. And I'm applying for the design team... anyone else?? All you have to do is just create two card based on two of their wonderful sketches. Anyway, these two cards are based on their sketches- the purple and green is for the design team call, and the other was just a sketch ( one that I forgot to post on their site before it was too late! :)

I really love how this second one turned out. I often get about halfway through making a card and start to think it looks horrible, but usually they end up being my favorites when they're done! I also really like this cloud paper from Basic Grey's Mellow collection- so pretty.

and there's also this...

CONTEST!

I am thinking of opening an Etsy shop with some of the appliqued shirts and things I've been creating lately. The only problem is, I am not at all creative when it comes to thinking of names! It's just not my thing. Soooo if anyone has any ideas, please leave a comment or send me an email, it'll be greatly appreciated! It doesn't have to be anything that implies what the shop will be selling, it can be completely random if you want!

Oh, and if you can think of something I really like and want to use, I will be giving away one custom item. You'll be able to choose the color, fit, design etc. too, but we can talk about that later.

Thanks for stopping by!

More chipboard!

We got more $2 Basic Grey chipboard from Big Lots!!! The little flourish is from the Periphery line and the flowers are infuse. I was so surprised they had this because neither of those lines are very old! It's so great for 2 bucks- 4 sheets of adhesive-backed chipboard shapes! Anyway, I did this card for a sketch over at 2 Sketches 4 You for the design team call. This is a great site for anyone who loves card sketches-- and prizes! Anyway, the paper is all Basic Grey and Pink Paislee.

And here are the pictures I promised! I've still got 2 more I'll get on here soon. Both of these are mine, so they've already been worn a few times. Like I said, I'm probably starting an Etsy shop with this kind of stuff... is there anyone that would be interested in buying one? :)

I love embroidery...

I've recently really gotten into *trying* to embroider things. Like with my shirts and things I've been doing, and my cards. It's great because it adds a whole other dimension of texture to a project... I love texture so much, I'm not sure if I could make anything with just paper; it's be a stretch. This card was something I made yesterday... not a wholoe lot of embroidery, but I learned how to do a french knot via this video so I used it on my flower centers. This video was great, and there a a whole bunch of other ones on all the different stitches and things. This is probably one of my favorite cards I've made recently.
Just in case you can't see what it says, the sentiment is "U R loved". Well, thanks for stopping by. I should have those other pictures of the shirts and things up tomorrow!

It took longer than I first wanted but...

here are a few pictures of one of the shirts I've made. I'll be taking pictures today of the others and hopefully have them on here in a day or two. Anyway, this one ended up going along with the BBTB challenge of the week- but I didn't do it on purpose! I was supposed to use the star off the George cartridge for something, then I remembered the shirt-- it worked out perfectly! So, here's a full shot of it:

and here's a few close-ups:

In the last close-up it shows the little bit of detailing on the biggest star down in the corner. The button is backed by a little felt scalloped piece, and the little flourish was embroidered in pink. These are so much fun to do, just time-consuming.

And here's another card. Used some Basic Grey chipboard we found at Big Lots! I got an alphabet and some big bookplates too!!!

Another BBTB challenge...

Last week the challenge was to use the little banner cut off of the Celebrations cartridge. I did this little card with all Basic Grey. Loved creating the little baner... so fun.

I know I haven't been posting much lately, but it's for a fairly good reason. I've gotten into appliqueing shirts recently, and I'm thinking of starting up a little shop on Etsy with them... I'll post pictures next time. The only thing is I'm gonna need a name, and I'm not very good at things like that, so we'll see how that goes. I've already sold a few to some friends. Anyway, it's just another really fun way of being creative... and all that sewing on my cards has given me good experience.

Be back soon with picture of the shirts and some more cards!

I LOVE the fabric paper....

that Love, Elsie does!!! It's so great for adding a whole other dimension of texture to a project. And it also looks really cute to kind of fray out the edges, sew on it, etc.

This is just a quick card I made for my sister's birthday... I had to do something with this fabric paper! That cute little cupcake was cut out of some Luxe Designs paper and colored with watercolor pencils. I also really love the shape of this card... it's sort of a tri-fold card, just with one side longer and rounded.

Also, this is another card I made a few weeks ago... used some Making Memories 5th Avenue paper... This one was really fun to do. I cut those little flower like shapes out of some of the paper (6 of them), then cut about half way down in each crease so it could curl up a little. The stitching on this was fun too. And I love the little felt butterfly- Target in the dollar section!
